What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

The item upgrader adds a new widget at the top of the Angel and Cash Upgrade windows. The Manager is priced at 33 billion Angel Investors, and has no benefit in terms of gameplay other than making it easier to purchase upgrades.

Increases the effectiveness of

Certain upgrades also give an additional random boost in addition to stat enhancements. These boosts can be quite valuable and should be considered when deciding on which items to upgrade. Some of these boosts are suitable for specific builds (such Whistan's shield, for FB sorcs) while others can bring a great deal of value to specific collectors.

Some items have an inherent boo, which is not useful when upgraded, such as the Goldwrap that gives you extra potion slots. These are usually upgraded to add value to a nearly perfect item.

Costs

There are a few costs that are associated with upgrades to items. The first is the upgrade itself. This cost depends on the item upgrades's new ilvl and the number of perks it will gain and is often expensive. Upgrades to higher levels (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) are costly.

The other is the cost of materials needed for an upgrade. These items are typically Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons or specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor Quests. The amount of these materials needed can be found in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

It takes time to upgrade an item. Based on the magnitude of the upgrade, it could take as long as 8 hours. The stats that are the base of the upgraded item are calculated based on the new ilvl and other characteristics. This calculation determines the new Armor Class bonuses, damage dice, and other important statistics. In certain cases, an upgrade can grant additional benefits. These perks are listed on a table.

In rare cases the upgrade will replace only the highest-costing perks. Sometimes, the upgrader will make other modifications to an item, for example, changing the damage type of a weapon or or removing an unwieldy or operational property. The cost for these modifications is determined by the item's current ilvl and it could require a special substance, such as an adamantine alloy.

Success Rate

The process of upgrading an item is dependent on chance. Like any random system there is a chance that it won't work. There are a number of ways to increase the chances of success. This includes using an item called an Upgrade Pity, or the addition of extra components to the upgrade.

The Upgrade Pity can be purchased through the NPC for smithing in Lost Ark. It increases the chances of the upgrade being successful by some percentage. It is similar to the "luck bonus" that some items provide however it is more solid. It can be added to any weapon or armor and is used three times.

It is also possible to add a range of additional items to the upgrade, thereby increasing the chance of success. These materials are displayed in a separate window above the + button. There are some limitations. The maximum amount of material you can add is shown directly above the + button.

Another method to increase the chances of a successful upgrade is to use an item called the Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is helpful in the event that you have an item or weapon equipment that is at the highest level for its tier or is close to it. This item will allow you upgrade the equipment to the next level without the risk of breaking.

If an upgrade is unsuccessful it will be returned to its initial state. This is usually a break, but could also be a downgrade. It is a good idea to save an upgrade for when you're near the maximum level of an item, and to use it as a last resort.

There are several items in the Kafra shop that can be used to boost the chances of an upgrade succeeding. You can increase your chances of success by upgrading your equipment several times using HD Oridecon and HD Elunium. In the same way, increasing the likelihood to receive a Double Mint from Shoe-Minting a maximum of five times will also increase the chance of success.
